21358 Minifigure Vending Machine is the 66th set in the LEGO Ideas portfolio and comes full of easter eggs to past LEGO themes and characters for LEGO fans to enjoy.
Releasing on June 1, 2025 for LEGO Insiders (free to join), 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine will include 1,343 pieces, 16 minifigures and retail for £149.99 / $179.99 / €169.99. It’s the same day that fans can buy the recently announced 21357 Disney Pixar Luxo Jr.
The model stands 28cm (11in) tall, 17cm (6.5in) wide and 21cm (8in) deep. The core of vending machine appears to be a square, with the extra depth coming from the landing spot for dispensed minifigure capsules at the front.
Those capsules are made up of two half-sphere elements held together with two Technic axle pins and contain the main appeal of 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine for most fans: the minifigures.
Of the set’s 16 characters, the vast majority are nostalgic nods to old LEGO themes. Some are direct remakes and reimaginings of past minifigures, such as the teal and gold Classic Space astronauts, while others are silly references to themes gone by — the Fabuland and Paradisa torsos being among the highlights there. A handful are completely new, with the Kraken and Griffin Knights joining the ranks of LEGO Castle. There’s also a minifigure version of the set’s fan designer, Rob Vangansewinkel, who originally submitted the project to LEGO Ideas.

Rob was inspired to make the set by a real vending machine he had as a child. “The idea of creating a working LEGO brick version that dispense minifigures just clicked,” he said.
But it was no easy task; figuring out how to make the machine actually vend the minifigures was a complicated process that Rob didn’t actually figure out until the project was already online. “I started with a digital version of the model and posted it on LEGO Ideas,” he explained. “But I wasn’t sure if the dispensing mechanism would really work, so I spent about two months testing and refining the design with actual LEGO bricks.”
As is typical with LEGO Ideas projects, 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine underwent some design changes on its way to becoming an official set, which included some tweaks to the dispensing function, and the addition of a coin slot. But don’t worry, you won’t have to fish through your pockets for loose change — the set includes brick-built coins.
Fans looking to get their hands on 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine and all of its exclusive minifigures will be able to purchase the set from June 1, 2025 via LEGO Insiders or the wide release on June 6, 2025.
