The LEGO Group and Maersk have teamed up for the first time in over a decade for a new set: 40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel.
LEGO 40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel will come with 1,516 pieces for a retail price of £139.99 / $149.99 / €149.99, when it sets sail on March 1, 2026.
Maersk is a Danish shipping company founded in 1904. Based in Copenhagen, the company operates in 130 countries around the world. A shipping company isn’t the typical type of licensing partner that the LEGO Group works with, but the two Danish conglomerates have been collaborating on Maersk-themed sets for decades.
The first was 1650 Maersk Line Container Ship in 1974, and new sets continued to appear up until 2014, when 10241 Maersk Line Triple-E released. The partnership had been quiet since then, until now with the upcoming launch of 40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel.
Interestingly, this display-oriented set is not an 18+ Icons model, instead coming as a standalone 12+ set. Whether this is part of the licensing agreement or something else is unknown, but it’s worthy of note as most display sets have gone the way of 18+ in the last half decade.

Like previous iterations of Maersk shipping vessels, the new set is primarily blue on the hull and features a healthy bit of cargo to haul. The shipping containers this time around are built in solid columns that use decorations on the side to make it appear as if they’re stacks of individual containers.
Stickers do appear to be how the ship is capturing most of its details, including some viewports and text. There’s a sticker on nearly every corner proudly boasting “all the way to zero” in reference to the company’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
The ship gets a stand akin to those used in LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series sets and some Icons models, with a display plaque providing some information about the real thing. Dimensions for the LEGO replica clock in at 60cm (23.6cm) long and 18cm (7in) tall when on the stand.
There’s a small bit of interior space at the end of the ship that has a world map, teacup, fried egg and compass. The ship at large is not minifigure scale, but it looks like one will fit in this space. And this makes sense given the tie-in captain’s torso available as part of the LEGO Minifigure Factory, a build-your-own minifigure experience available online in some territories and in select LEGO stores.
