The LEGO parts you need to build a modern Res-Q 6431 Road Rescue

Would you like to build a modern version of LEGO Res-Q 6431 Road Rescue? Then here is a list of all the pieces you need to build a modern take on the set!

6431 Road Rescue from 1998 was part of the short-lived Res-Q theme that aimed to inject new energy into the evergreen Town theme at the turn of the millennium. It was a time when the LEGO Group was experimenting with colour, design and play concepts.

Though one of the smaller offerings in the lineup, Road Rescue captures the spirit of high-stakes emergency response in miniature form. Its distinctive colour scheme of black, yellow and transparent dark blue gives the sets a bold, modern look that set them apart from traditional Town builds of the time.

Maintaining that signature colour combination is the key to this modern recreation, but it also presents the biggest challenge. The specific windscreen piece used in the original set is no longer available in transparent dark blue, forcing a creative solution. To preserve the correct appearance, a brick-built windscreen uses 1×4 tiles, arranged to emulate the slanted glass of the original. This approach gives the model a modern texture while staying true to the vintage aesthetic.

The instructions for building the model are in the Blocks Book of Retro LEGO Sets Volume III. You can buy the magazine here. If you subscribe to Blocks, you’ll get at least three new sets of LEGO build instructions in every monthly edition!
