The LEGO Group has appointed a new Chief People Officer: Daan Ottnik – van den Broek, who joined the company last year.
Daan Ottnik – van den Broek will assume of the role of Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief People Officer at the LEGO Group effective April 1, 2026, taking over from Loren I. Shuster, who has been Chief People Officer since 2017.
Daan Ottnik – van den Broek arrived at the LEGO Group in 2025 from Unilever, where she had spent 27 years and had reached the role of Chief Human Resources Officer for the company’s Global Personal Care Business Group and Global Functions.
“Since joining the LEGO Group, Daan has been a passionate advocate for our culture and values,” said LEGO CEO Niels B. Christiansen. “She has significant experience leading HR teams in a large global organisation. I am looking forward to Daan joining the Executive Leadership Team as we continue to work to sustain the LEGO Group’s record high levels of motivation and satisfaction and ensure our colleagues are well supported as they continue to bring LEGO Play experiences to more children around the world.”

Loren I Shuster, who has been with the LEGO Group since 2015, in that time serving as Chief Commercial Officer, Chief People Officer and Head of Corporate Affairs. Loren will now transition into the role of Group People Advisor to CEO Niels B Christiansen, focusing on strategic activities beyond the company.
