If you’ve ever looked at the LEGO Instagram community, you’ll know there’s thousands of talented creators out there making loads of different types of content, but the most popular by far is custom minifigures. And if you’ve been reading Blocks for a while, you might remember a classic segment from the early issues, called Custom Corner, dedicated to showcasing some of those figures. It’s now back for the Blocks website to show off some of the best figures on Instagram each week, starting with @thelegomaster04’s version of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.

To get Blocks, the LEGO magazine for fans, every month – at a discount and earlier than the shops – order a 12-month or 24-month subscription. Direct debit payment options are available too; to find out more get in touch via subs@silverbackpublishing.rocks.

Tyler (@thelegomaster04) is one of the most creative customizers on Instagram, and this figure is some of his best work. It’s instantly recognisable and more importantly it looks incredible. The Superman head is a great way to show the shadow across his face, and the hood itself combines well with the mask piece to recreate his look from the game. The shoulder armour adds some bulk to the figure, and the torso is a near-perfect choice – it has the right colour palette and the strap across the torso echoes the lines of his suit. The hip, legs and cloth piece combine seamlessly to show Scorpion’s baggy trousers, loincloth and boots. However, the most impressive part of this figure is its gauntlets, which utilise cut Lego handcuffs and studs to reflect Scorpion’s bulky metal gauntlets.
