The LEGO parts you need to build mini Western 6769 Fort Legoredo

Would you like to build a mini version of LEGO Western 6769 Fort Legoredo? Then here is a list of all the pieces you need to build the classic set but smaller!

6769 Fort Legoredo was a defining set for a generation of 1990s children. Its sheer size, play value and host of new elements, most notably the log palisade walls and bricks, make it distinctive even today. Nothing like it has ever been produced since, aside from when it was rereleased in the early 2000s, a testament to its enduring appeal. Based on its age, after market cost and size, the original is well outside the means of many to acquire which makes this mini version all the more appealing.

The original set consists of four walls, each built on its own 16×32 baseplate in tan, a very new colour at that time. The rear wall includes a headquarters building with jail beneath, while the front features an imposing, classic style gate flanked by guard towers with eye popping red roofs.

All of those details have been faithfully recreated here. Further homage to the original is paid by incorporating some of the palisade bricks that debuted in Fort Legoredo and remain one of its most enduring legacies, as those parts are still being produced. One change for this tiny version is that it can hinge open into an alternate arrangement that was shown on the original box (the actual set had bricks connecting the four sections together).

The instructions for building the model are in the Blocks Book of Retro LEGO Sets Volume II. You can buy the magazine here. If you subscribe to Blocks, you’ll get at least three new sets of LEGO build instructions in every monthly edition!

Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine, provides exclusive instructions for models you won’t find anywhere else. You can follow the instructions closely and build the exact model shown, or take them as inspiration to build something similar but unique. Either way, these builds are a great way to learn techniques and upgrade your LEGO building skills.
