10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter is an incredible new model based on Dune, capturing the unique flying machines that House Atreides use to travel above the desert surface. This build takes the imposing Ornithopter and translates it back down to the scale of the dragonflies that inspired it.
In Frank Herbert’s novel and Denis Villeneuve’s film, Arrakis is a planet whose human occupants operate massive machinery to mine precious spice and stay a step ahead of sandworms. Keeping that industrial aesthetic at such a small scale necessitated clever parts usage.
