The LEGO parts you need to build a modern Spyrius Saucer Scout

Would you like to build a modern version of LEGO Space Spyrius 6385 Saucer Scout? Then here is a list of all the pieces you need to construct this LEGO model!

Spyrius is a LEGO Space subtheme that doesn’t get nearly as much love as some of the other factions. Sitting between Unitron and Exploriens, it experimented with somewhat different models, offering giant robots and round flying vehicles rather than spaceships.

The smallest of these sets is 6835 Saucer Scout. Several years before U.F.O. would achieve true flying saucers with special rounded elements, this tiny ship was released. It features four matching wings, with engines on their ends, to suggest a rounded shape – as long as you squint hard enough.

For this modern update, it was imperative to retain the four matching wings along with the sideways facing engines, although it’s a shame for the astronaut that it also retains a level of spin that must be nausea inducing. While it would be fun to include the old octagonal windscreen, that part hasn’t been produced in several decades, so a more recent dome piece seems more appropriate.
