A single Clone Trooper pilots a V-19 Torrent, a starfighter that is frequently dogfighting with Separatist droid starships of various types. Known for its unique tri-wing design and vertical landing mode, the Torrent appears throughout Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
With the release of 75432 V-19 Torrent, fans are getting their first official version of the ship since 2008 and this miniature version is even more swooshable.
Translating the Torrent’s complex folding wing design into a compact LEGO model is tricky. The two outer wings have to attach cleanly to the central cockpit section, requiring tight connections to avoid gaps while still allowing the angled fold-out look. Even trickier is the vertical wing, which is key to the ship’s aesthetic and has to be centred while also acting as a support to keep the model upright.
