Fright Knights is a Castle subtheme from the LEGO Group’s experimental era during the back half of the 1990s. While 1993’s Dragon Knights had taken a page from medieval fantasy, its structures were still somewhat traditional – but Fright Knights pushed things in a new direction.
6097 Night Lord’s Castle went for soaring height instead of an expansive footprint. It wasn’t until The Lord of the Rings theme came around that anything this tall arrives in the realm of fantasy. Thanks to its iconic shape and eye-popping colour scheme, Basil the Bat Lord’s fortress is a perfect subject for miniaturising.
