Since we’ve already taken a look at LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets that can fit into your City display, now it’s time for a look at DC. LEGO DC Super Heroes has released mechs, aircraft, playsets and many Batmobiles since the theme’s inception in 2011. The themes has more to offer than you might expect in the form of civilian vehicles and structures that can be placed right into your LEGO City display.
Transportation
76120 Batwing and The Riddler Heist includes a Bat-plane, green helicopter for Riddler to pilot, and a Gotham City Police Department (GCPD) police car. This is the only GCPD police car to exist in the DC Super Heroes line. While 70912 Arkham Asylum does contain a police car, it was released under The LEGO Batman Movie theme. The car included in 76120 is six studs wide and its primary colour is blue. LEGO City is filled with police cars, so will blend in no problem when placed among them or in a busy street.

76002 Superman Metropolis Showdown is one of the few DC sets to include a normal car. Built in a striking black and yellow colour, the car has one seat for a single minifigure. While six studs wide, it seems to lack height. That is only because this car appears to be a convertible, which currently has the roof down. No driver is included in the set, but that is because the car’s purpose was not to be driven, but rather to be a weapon for General Zod to throw at Superman. There are even bar pieces for Zod to grab onto!
76026 Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas included a tuk-tuk build long before The LEGO Ninjago Movie or the Monkie Kid themes ever existed. The banana tuk-tuk is the only civilian vehicle included in the set, which is built alongside the invisible jet and a Bat-mech. This vehicle does come with a driver, allowing you to place it right into your city without having to add anything.
Work Vehicles
LEGO City has given us several forklifts over the years and another is included in 76045 Kryptonite Intercept. The only ‘super hero’ aspect to this vehicle is the fact that a sticker on the side reads ‘Lexcorp’. Other than that, it fits into a construction zone, warehouse or dock area perfectly.
The small tractor included in 76054 Batman Scarecrow Harvest of Fear is one of the best civilian vehicles included in any LEGO Super Heroes set. It’s small but detailed, and its stickers add character. Here a minifigure is included to drive it, but he will always wear a face of terror – even when The Scarecrow isn’t around.
Military/Historical
76075 Wonder Woman Warrior Battle delivers a minifigure scale WW1 plane armed with stud shooters. Due to its historical nature, the plane could work in a LEGO city as an outdoor display piece for people to look at. Or, if you have the parts, you could house it inside an aircraft hanger or a museum building.
Under Water
Both 76027 Black Manta Deep Sea Strike and 76085 Battle of Atlantis provide perfect builds and structures to accompany your underwater sets from not only LEGO City, but other themes set under the sea. Remnants from Atlantis as well as algae, rocks and underwater vegetation can be found in both these sets. Sets from the current Ninjago wave take place underwater, so it would make sense for the ninja come across parts from 76017 and 76085 during their latest adventure.
City Structures
The corner section of sidewalk included in 6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase fits into a city nicely. Itprovides a traffic light as well as a newsstand with some papers. The light is meant to be able to be knocked off as a play feature, but it can work as a static model just fine.
Small city buildings are sometimes included in both Marvel and DC Super Heroes sets, which often serve as places for the villains to break into. 6864 Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase included a bank that can be placed among other buildings with no alterations needed, as long as you don’t mind the open back. As the building is small, you can cover up the back with some basic bricks for a more finished look.
When building up your own city display, make sure to take a look at what other themes have to offer. For example, if you’re a LEGO Super Heroes fan (DC or Marvel) and have a collection of any size, check to see what you already have that can be worked into your city.
