A new special will go inside the creation of the epic LEGO cars that Formula 1 drivers took around the circuit at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix as part of the Formula 1 Drivers’ Parade.
The LEGO Group and Formula 1 are continuing their big budget collaboration with Bricks on Track: Building the LEGO F1 Drivers’ Parade, revealing the process behind designing, planning and creating the ten drivable LEGO F1 cars that took to the track at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix Drivers’ Parade.
The special promises to tell the full story of how the LEGO Group worked on these one-of-a-kind cars, from coming up with how they would work to making sure they successfully made it onto the track without any disasters. The project was completed in complete secrecy, with F1 fans around the world surprised and delighted when their favourite drivers were in LEGO vehicles on the circuit.

It was quite the undertaking – each of the life sized cars uses nearly 400,000 LEGO bricks, with some non LEGO brick built things in there so they can actually drive. Each one weighed approximately 1,500kg, including 1,000kg of that being LEGO bricks. It took more than 22,000 combined hours to build all 10, which were a collaboration between 26 specialists in design, engineering and building.
The cars were capable of reaching 20km/h during their unveiling at the Miami Grand Prix Driver’s Parade with help from authentic, Pirelli Slick Tires.
LEGO Head of Design William Thorogood and former racing driver Naomi Schiff are going to be at the heart of the documentary, based on what is shown in the trailer.
Bricks on Track: Building the LEGO F1 Drivers’ Parade was directed by Marcus Liversedge and produced by Auriol Wyles.
