New collaboration tips off with LEGO 43008 Nike Dunk

The LEGO Group and Nike are tipping off their multi-year partnership with new products including LEGO 43008 Nike Dunk set and Nike apparel.

LEGO Nike will launch on July 1, 2025 with the first model from the two brands, 43008 Nike Dunk. The set will include 1,180 pieces, one minifigure and retail for £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99. This will be followed on August 1 by Nike’s first part of the collaboration — a pair of LEGO brand themed Air Max Dns made in bright yellow with a stud design across the top.

These are just the first steps in the collaboration between the LEGO Group and Nike that is designed to help children blend the worlds of creative and active play. As is signalled by these first reveals, the collaboration is expected to see both companies release a wide range of products that mix the LEGO brick and Nike styles. There is also a collaborative event taking place at LEGOLAND California from June 7 until June 11 to celebrate the International Day of Play, where young fans can create LEGO minifigure sports cards, build a basketball jersey and play some basketball.

43008 Nike Dunk divides its 1,180 pieces across three main areas, which all come together on a display stand. Brick-built letters spell out the set’s title, and a well-rounded basketball is positioned diagonally on top, ready to be dunked into a sneaker on the side.

The shoe is reminiscent of 10282 adidas Originals Superstar, the LEGO Group’s first foray into the world of sneakers from 2021. Though the shoe in 43008 Nike Dunk is of course based on the Nike brand rather than Adidas and is modelled after the popular Nike Dunk line of shoes. You’re not likely to actually wear the brick-built version of the sneaker, so the designers have taken the opportunity to turn the inside into a storage compartment. Helpful marketing images suggest stashing your keys inside, though that feels like a quick and easy recipe to forget where you left your keys.

For LEGO fans who aren’t into the whole sneaker craze, the set does offer a little extra treat — the B’Ball Head minifigure. Admittedly a bit of a goofy name, but it’s perfectly accurate. The minifigure has a new element for its head, turning it into a proper basketball head. The figure is rounded out by a sparkly jersey and dual-moulded legs to boot. The figure gets a smaller storage section at the heel of the shoe, and there’s additional storage up front for an alternate set of laces.

To coincide with summer football in Europe, there will be a football activation in London, UK from July 19 until July 27. In China, there will be activations in Shanghai, Beijing and other cities with a number of co-branded community events and in-store activations at the Shanghai House of Innovation. Laster in the year, Nike will open a multi-functional playground made of recycled shoes in Shanghai.

“Play has the incredible ability to inspire and spark creativity in every child, and at the LEGO Group, we truly believe in that power,” said Federico Begher, SVP, Product Group, New Businesses at the LEGO Group. “We’re excited to kick off the first chapter of our partnership with Nike, blending the joy of basketball with the magic of imagination.”
