LEGO One Piece events are coming to 21 LaLaport and Lazona shopping centres across Japan beginning July 25, promising themed activities and giveaways.
Fans and families will be able to take part in themed LEGO ONE PIECE activities and giveaways from July 25 to August 17 at LaLaport and Lazona facilities all across Japan, running from 10.00am to 6.00pm daily.
The events are designed to celebrate the launch of LEGO One Piece and are open to everyone above the age of four, just requiring participants to fill out a short questionnaire before entering. Once that’s done, fans will be able to take part in all of the activities. Tickets may be given out if demand is especially high on a given day.
There’s set to be a make and take station where One Piece fans can build their very own LEGO gum-gum fruits. As a make and take, you’ll be able to take your freshly built LEGO gum-gum fruit home with you. The only catch is that stock is limited each day, so it will be handled on a first-come first-served basis and each guest will only be able to build one model.
Another building event asks guests to help build a massive pirate ship, adding their own personal flare to the collective build. This activity is designed to slowly build over the course of the event, so you won’t take that one home — finished builds will stay at the event and go towards making a huge pirate ship.
Upgrade your LEGO hobby! If you take out a subscription to Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine, you’ll get each issue first and at a discount, plus other perks including a free digital subscription and the chance to win LEGO prizes every month.
A scavenger hunt style activity will also be available, tasking guests to hunt down posters of East Blue’s Most Wanted. Finding all eight will earn an extra free (perhaps digital) gift.
For those attending at the Mitsui Shopping Park, a free pirate minifigure will be available for members. It’s sure to be a nice bonus for those who are able to get it (who would say no to a free minifigure?), but those who can’t attend needn’t worry — no parts of the figure appear to be exclusive or even LEGO ONE PIECE specific.
Another free gift will be available in the form of a straw hat headband, so attendees can feel right at home joining the LEGO ONE PIECE crew. Like other promotional materials, this is a limited stock item and will have caps for each day.
Raffles for LEGO ONE PIECE sets are also set to be held at the event, so guests could see themselves walking away with an extra box of free LEGO bricks, depending on their luck. Giveway sets could include 75639 The Going Merry Pirate Ship, 75640 The Baratie Floating Restaurant, 75638 Battle at Arlong Park, 75637 Buggy the Clown’s Circus Tent and 75636 Windmill Village Hut.
Select locations will also have photo-ops with characters — check locally for exact details about events near you. For more details about the whole event, check out the official information page.
For the time being there is only information about events in Japan, but more may be on the way globally. There will be free items on offer worldwide via LEGO.com if you prefer not to leave the comfort of home.
And beginning on August 1, LEGO One Piece sets will be available to purchase as well. If you’re unable to attend these events but would still like to get your hands on some LEGO One Piece sets, consider purchasing them via our affiliate links to help support the work we do at Blocks, online and in print.
