LEGO fiction books for children coming from DK

The LEGO Group and DK are launching a new batch of children’s fiction later this year, expanding their partnership to include chapter and story books for the first time, with one title written by best-selling author Jeffrey Brown.

In fall 2026, the LEGO Group and DK will release a range of fiction books for children aged 5-9 years, including chapter books and new ‘Story Builder’ books.

DK and the LEGO Group’s partnership is a longstanding affair; the two companies have collaborated on many LEGO reference and activity books over the years. Titles include multiple volumes of the LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopaedia, The LEGO Book and various idea books designed to spark young builder’s imaginations. But the DK and LEGO bookshelf has always been a little sparse on fiction — until now.

LEGO Chapter Books and LEGO Story Builders are the two new lines of books from DK flip that encourage new readers to explore the wonderful world of fiction. There’s also set to be Original LEGO Fiction, which is headlining the release.

New York Times bestseller Jeffrey Brown is writing the first round of Original LEGO Fiction, setting his story in a post-apocalyptic world and following Nikolas Nurdblok, the son of a famous family of adventurers, as he and his friends seek out lost LEGO pieces. Jeffrey Brown is known for creating the Jedi Academy books, and his debut LEGO offering, Nikolas Nurdblok and the Lost Brick, will follow a similar graphic style. The book will be published on November 5 in the UK and November 3 in the US, intended for readers 5 – 9 years old and priced at £7.99 / $14.99.

LEGO Chapter Books will accompany Nikolas Nurdblok, with two books being published those same days. LEGO City Game On! Donut Dash and LEGO NINJAGO Riyu the Dragon will be full-colour graphic fiction that promise to have ‘fun hidden elements on every page’ as a way to get children excited about reading. These books are intended for children aged 5 – 7 and priced at £6.99 / $8.99.

LEGO Story Builders are the last type of book to launch the world of LEGO fiction, and these are a bit more familiar in terms of what readers typically expect from DK LEGO titles. They are still fiction, not reference books, but they each come with an exclusive minifigure and a handful of bricks. The first two titles will be LEGO NINJAGO Quill of Destiny: Attack of the Scroll Guardian and LEGO Friends Pet Rescuers: Bunny Breakout. Best-selling illustrator Leo Trinidad worked on the NINJAGO title and award-winning illustrator Marta Kissi worked on the Friends book. These will come out a bit before the other books, on October 1 in the UK and October 6 in the US, designed for children 6 – 8 years with a price of £12.99 / $19.99.

A handful of other titles have been revealed with no release date: LEGO NINJAGO Riyu and the Dragon: Ninja in Training and LEGO City Game On! Duck Race.
