The iconic London bus is getting a new LEGO iteration for London lovers all over the world, the perfect souvenir to remind you of the UK capital.
LEGO 40953 London Bus will come with 245 pieces and cost £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99, releasing on March 1, 2026.
This version of the London bus is at first glance similar to 40220 London Bus, the previous version released in 2016. But where that set used just 118 pieces, this new set uses 245, so it’s about double the size of that previous model. At the same time, it falls far short of 10258 London Bus’s 1,686 pieces, making it a more mid-scale offering — though it is still far too small to be minifigure scale. Official dimensions mark it as 15cm (5.9in) long and 8.8cm (3.5in) tall.
Like previous LEGO recreations of the London bus, 40953 London Bus is based on the famous Routemaster design that roamed London streets from the 1950s all the way until 2005. The modern busses that replaced them have yet to receive a LEGO recreation, but with the Routemaster continuing to dominate popular perception of the busses, it makes sense for it to be the focus of the LEGO models.

The Creator set is of course mostly red to match the colour scheme of London busses, with plenty of windows lining both levels. Just like the classic busses, there’s no folding doors at the front or middle — the only way on or off is the always-open rear corner, complete with the pole to help people step up and down.
Exterior details are handled via stickers and show this to be the 24 bus enroute to Leicester Square. With previous sets having pun names like Brickston, it’s a little surprising to see a regular ol’ London stop as the destination, but with the flagship LEGO Store located at Leicester Square, it makes sense. Other stickered decorations are the license plate — 40953LB — and two advertisements, one on either side. One has some general UK imagery, and a wide range at that. Big Ben and Tower Bridge are obligatory, while the umbrella feels like an unnecessary reminder of the weather. The opposite side has a somehow even-more-touristy “I ‘heart’ London” sticker, which does have a nice map design behind it showing a hint of the Thames.
The roof is removeable as well, but without space for minifigures on the inside, it’s more a fun bonus detail than an integral feature.
40953 London Bus will be available in LEGO Creator from March 1, 2026. And while it will certainly make for a good souvenir for a London holiday, it will be available worldwide so Anglophiles can get their hands on it from any corner of the globe.
