Dinosaur expedition training ready for Jurassic World Rebirth

To coincide with the release of Jurassic World Rebirth in cinemas, Blocks was invited to train for an expedition to seek out dinosaurs and extract their DNA at the Barbican Conservatory in London. After the arduous training, Blocks did manage to discover some dinosaurs…

Jurassic World Rebirth is in cinemas now and there are a range of LEGO sets inspired by the new movie. You can read reviews of the models in Issue 129 of Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine for fans, to find out which ones are for you.

Training for a dinosaur expedition involved learning how to extract DNA from a Spinosaurus egg, understanding how to track a Mosasaurus and essential survival skills for facing a terrifying predator. Once all of the key personnel had explained what would be required on the mission, there was an opportunity to explore the base camp and encounter a baby dinosaur.

Naturally, the dinosaurs were not kept at bay for long – and Blocks discovered some prehistoric LEGO creatures amidst the foliage within the Barbican Conservatory.

Jurassic World Rebirth is directed by Gareth Edwards from a screenplay by David Koepp, who worked with Steven Spielberg on the original Jurassic Park film. In the film, a group are sent to seek out three of the largest dinosaurs on Earth to recover their DNA in order to change the nature of medical research. There might be even more terrifying creatures out there though than those that the retrieval team are tracking down.

The LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth collection is made up of the following models:

76968 Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex

76976 Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus Air Mission

76975 T. rex River Escape

76974 Brick-Built Mosasaurus Boat Mission

76973 Raptor & Titanosaurus Tracking Mission

76972 Raptor Off-Road Escape

76970 Baby Dinosaur Dolores: Aquilops
