LEGO fans in Wales will have a more spacious shopping experience soon – Cardiff’s LEGO Store is on the move, heading to a larger space in St David’s Centre later this summer.
The official LEGO Store in Cardiff is scheduled to move house later this summer, going from its original space to larger accommodations within St David’s Centre.
In business for nearly 15 years, the Cardiff LEGO Store is due for a makeover, which will involve setting up at an entirely new location. Or almost entirely new — it’s staying in St David’s Centre but will be moving to a larger storefront. And there certainly won’t be any complaints from shoppers, as the store is getting bigger as it modernises. Fans can’t say ‘no’ to having more LEGO sets to look at.
“We are delighted to share that we are relocating our LEGO Store Cardiff,” shared LEGO RetailVice President of Marketing Shweta Munshi. “We are continually investing in our store portfolio and this new store will be a top retail destination for product launches and events, while acting as a hub for our LEGO community and new builders alike.”

“The LEGO Store is such a popular brand here at St David’s, so we know the new, upsized store will be a treat for our guests to explore,” added St David’s Cardiff Centre Director Helen Morgan. “Guest demand is high for exciting brands such as the LEGO Store and we look forward to unveiling the creative new space later this year.”
The new location will provide shoppers with all the essential LEGO Store experiences, including the ever-popular Pick a Brick Wall and Build a Minifigure station. Huge LEGO builds will also be on display, representing local Cardiff landmarks. Plus, free building activities and challenges will be available regularly, giving shoppers a chance to get hands-on with some LEGO bricks without having to open their wallets.
Cardiff’s LEGO Store is one of twenty LEGO Stores currently in the United Kingdom. Other store locations include fellow capital cities of Edinburgh and London, home to the flagship Leicester Square store and new Battersea Power Station shop, as well as stores dotted around the country, such as the latest store in Bristol.
The move for Cardiff is one of many moves and grand openings happening for LEGO Stores across the world, as the LEGO Group continues to add to its LEGO Store roster. Once a very small number, LEGO Stores are slowly encroaching on every corner of the world. And yet it will always feel like there isn’t once close enough to home.
