It was teased in Blocks magazine Issue 78 – and now the sets have been revealed! LEGO VIDIYO is going beyond Beatbox and Bandmates sets, with new building sets launching soon.
LEGO VIDIYO has so far been all about taking special minifigures and BeatBits tiles, then using them to make music videos with an AR app. Now though, there’s also traditional LEGO building involved as epic stage sets will launch on June 1 (August 1 in North America).
There are stages for specific music genres and 43115 The Boombox, a set that offers a stage that can be adapted for whichever LEGO character is leading the band. As well as being building sets, these models will unlock content within the VIDIYO app.
‘We’re thrilled to be unveiling these fantastic stage models as part of the LEGO VIDIYO line-up because they demonstrate the harmony between physical LEGO building and digital play. Not only are they fun to build and play with, with the minifigure band members, but they also serve as ideal backgrounds to add extra flair to kids’ videos,’ says LEGO Design Manager Ross Christopher Haynes says.
