LEGO Technic has revealed three new sets for January 2026 — a NASA rocket, Porsche racing car and Bugatti Chiron hypercar.
All three new LEGO Technic sets will release on January 1, 2026 on LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores. They are:
- 42221 NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket with 632 pieces for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99
- 42222 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Hypercar with 771 pieces for £59.99 / $64.99 / €64.99
- 42224 Porsche 911 GT3 R REXY AO Racing Car with 1,313 for £129.99 / $149.99 / €139.99
The three sets continue LEGO Technic’s recent focus on sports cars and space, offering models at a variety of price points and piece counts when compared to the complete LEGO Technic lineup. 42221 NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket will be one of the lowest-priced LEGO Technic space sets, while the other two match up similarly to other sets currently on the market.
42221 NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket
The smallest of the three sets with 632 pieces, 42221 NASA Artemis Space Launch System still packs an entire launch system and display stand into the set. The launch rocket, topped by the Orion spacecraft, looks to be a striking display piece on its own, but the set’s main attraction is the mechanism built into the stand. Via a crank on the base, the whole model can launch and separate into its individual modules as Orion heads off on its journey. The mechanism is covered by the stand but can be put on display as well thanks to the hatched design. And in front of it all stand four brave astronaut nanofigures and small display plaque.

42222 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Hypercar
42222 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Hypercar slightly edges out 42221 NASA Artemis Space Launch System in terms of part count, coming in at 771 pieces. The set comes with a fair bit of moving pieces and features, including opening doors and bonnet and a functioning steering system. A knob on top of the car allows you to easily steer as you drive the car around; based on images, it appears that this knob will be easily removable for a sleeker display, but seeing just how simple this will be will have to wait until Blocks gets the set in hand to review. The set will also come with a code to unlock a digital version of the car in ASPHALT LEGENDS.
42224 Porsche 911 GT3 R REXY AO Racing Car
With 1,313 pieces, 42224 Porsche 911 GT3 R REXY AO Racing Car is comfortably the largest of the three sets. This set packs many similar features to 42222 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Hypercar, having opening doors and boot and steering via a knob up top. But the Porsche goes the extra mile with its extra pieces, adding in working suspension, a 6-cylinder boxer engine with correct firing order and sychronised air jacks. The car also comes decked out in a dinosaur-themed livery to add an extra bit of flare to a model that would have plenty of star power own its own.
