Modular-style LEGO DC Batman 76300 Arkham Asylum announced

Gotham’s worst of the worst are coming back to the brick in LEGO DC Batman 76300 Arkham Asylum, the first appearance of the infamous prison in LEGO form since 2017.

76300 Arkham Asylum will come with 2,953 pieces and 16 minifigures, retailing for £269.99 / $299.99 / €299.99. Preorders are open now, ahead of the set’s release on September 12 at LEGO.com.

This new version of Arkham Asylum is the fourth time the home for Batman’s fiercest foes has been offered in the brick, but 76300 Arkham Asylum stands out from past models thanks to its modular design. Previous sets, such as 7785 Arkham Asylum from 2006 and 2013’s 10937 Arkham Asylum Breakout, were designed as standalone facades (you are forgiven for forgetting 76138 Batman and The Joker Escape), while the new 2025 set fits snugly on a 32×32 baseplate and will be able to connect to LEGO modular buildings from the LEGO Icons and Creator Expert lines.

The new set stands approximately two storeys, measuring at 32cm (12in) tall — a comparable height to standard modular buildings, including 2025’s 10350 Tudor Corner.

76300 Arkham Asylum does break the typical modular building formula slightly, having a concave curve to the building rather than the usual convex shape that protrudes out towards the front of the baseplate. This will help to create a unique street presence for the building, though the looming central tower, iron gates and dark red colour scheme are doing a lot of heavy lifting there already.

The flipped curve of the building does mean that the modular sidewalks are absent from this model, so while it will seamlessly connect to other buildings via Technic pins and bricks, pedestrians will find it challenging to get around. Not that they’re likely to want to take a stroll past the prison— there’s an array of breakouts plaguing the place, from a broken fence out front to busted-out walls around back.

Those breakouts are perpetrated by a little more than half of the set’s 16 minifigures. A respectable 10 villains make up the roster, though only four get their usual costumes; Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman and Riddler. The remaining six — Joker, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, Killer Croc, Bane and Penguin — are all confined to their orange jumpsuits. A nice bit of variety for dedicated collectors — and fitting for the set — though it may be a tad disappointing to have so many villains without their iconic getups.

On the hero side, Batman and Robin (Damien Wayne) are accompanied by Batwoman and Batwing, plus two Arkham guards that are way out of their depth. Batwing gets a brick-built wingsuit, while the other three members of the Bat Family get cloth capes. Batwoman’s cape is mid-glide, while Batman and Robin’s look perfect for posing atop a skyscraper on a windy night.

The minifigures will have plenty to do all around Arkham, inside and out. Images of interior details are a little sparse as of now, but it appears one wing of the building is dedicated to the cellblock, while the other has a processing room on the ground floor and a therapy office above. Though the therapist is looking a little untrustworthy…
