The LEGO Group has announced a new Technic set coming in 2026 – 42223 1966 Ford GT40 MKII Race Car.
On January 1, 2026, fans will be able to add Technic 42223 1966 Ford GT40 MKII Race Car to their LEGO car collections. It uses 793 pieces and will retail for £64.99 / £74.99 / €74.99.
The Ford GT40 first arrived in 1964, but this set focuses on the World Championship winning MKII from 1966. That year, three 427 cu in (7.0 L) powered Mk.II prototypes crossed the finish line together.

For the set, the LEGO Group has delivered a black and silver livery based on the champion 1966 vehicle. A knob on top of the finished set provides hand of god steering, along with other features typical of small Technic sets such as opening doors, removable engine cover and a lever that opens the bonnet.
42223 1966 Ford GT40 MKII Race Car is not the only set announced today – 21064 Paris – City of Love, 11372 Autumn Cottage Garden and 31218 Japanese Cherry Blossom Landscape have also been revealed.
