LEGO NINJAGO has announced another 15th anniversary set: 71867 X-1 Ninja Charger, inspired by the classic set from 2014.
LEGO NINJAGO 71867 X-1 Ninja Charger will come with 691 pieces for a retail price of £69.99 / $89.99 / €79.99, releasing on June 1, 2026. Other anniversary sets are already on shelves, including 71861 The Old Town and 71858 Four Weapons Blacksmith. There’s also a board game on the way, Destiny’s Bounty Adventures.
The new X-1 Ninja Charger is a NINJAGO Legacy set, meaning that it is an updated version of a classic model from earlier in NINJAGO’s long run. Specifically, this is a remake of 70727 X-1 Ninja Charger from 2014, which was part of the Rebooted season that had the Ninja pitted against a digital version of the Overlord and nindriods.
Interestingly, the new set is not the first time that NINJAGO Legacy has covered this specific vehicle. 2021 saw the release of 71737 X-1 Ninja Charger as part of the theme’s 10th anniversary celebration. So this is a vehicle that has been around the block.
With two previous versions, 71867 X-1 Ninja Charger isn’t going to light the world on fire with a brand-new design, but it is visually distinct from the others. It is more modern than the very-clearly-from-2014 original and opts for a more rugged design than the 2021 version.
The main feature with the new set (as well as the old) is the motorcycle that launches out of the main car. The entire front section can lift up, letting Kai zoom away on narrower adventures. Details look to be a reasonable mix of stickers and bricks; short swords make for good decoration over the headlights.

Three minifigures are included: two that fit the set and a ‘bonus’ 15th anniversary character – Dusk, the first Elemental Master of Shadow.
The nindroid is the set’s only antagonistic force, and like many opposing factions in sets like this, it looks to be rather outmatched. Its design uses the 2014 version as a reference but has greatly upped the print quality to bring it up to modern standards. Two katanas are its weapons of choice and it gets a neck-mounted element to hold them on its back.
Kai, on the other hand, is not an update of the 2014 version. Instead, he gets an updated ZX outfit (the one from the 2012 season) but lacks the shoulder armour. It is a bit disappointing that the unique outfit from 2014’s Rebooted season doesn’t get an upgrade, but with all the 15th anniversary sets following this style, it at least makes sense why the ZX design was chosen.
Dusk, the Elemental Master of Shadow, gets a special stand that can connect to the anniversary characters from other sets. The theme for the collection is the first elemental masters, those who possessed the powers before the team of ninja.
71867 X-1 Ninja Charger will be available from June 1, 2026. Other 15th anniversary LEGO NINJAGO sets are available now, including 71861The Old Town.
