LEGO Ideas has unveiled the latest set in the fan-driven theme – 21349 Tuxedo Cat is a full scale brick pet.
Damian Andres is a LEGO fan who designed a cat build based on his own cat. 10,000 fans voted for it on LEGO Ideas and it was selected by the official LEGO panel – so now it’s coming as an official set. 21349 Tuxedo Cat will launch at LEGO.com on June 1.
The set is 1:1 scale and uses 1,710 pieces. It will be priced at £89.99, €99.99, $99.99.
Upgrade your LEGO hobby! If you take out a subscription to Blocks, the monthly LEGO magazine, you’ll get each issue first and at a discount, plus other perks including a free digital subscription and the chance to win LEGO prizes every month.
The colours have changed since Damian’s submission, with muted brown and tan shading replaced with black and white. The eyes can be built in either yellow or blue and the mouth can be open or closed. The head rotates, plus the ears, paws and tail can be adjusted.
It’s the first set from the third LEGO Ideas 2022 review period to be selected. A set inspired by the movie Jaws will launch later this year.
