LEGO How to Train Your Dragon debuts with 10375 Toothless

How to Train Your Dragon is getting its first ever LEGO set to coincide with the new film release, as Toothless is delivered in the brick for the first time.

The new LEGO Icons 10375 How to Train Your Dragon: Toothless contains 784 pieces and will cost £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99, with pre-orders open now ready for the set’s release on July 1, 2025.

10375 How to Train Your Dragon: Toothless is a statue-style set, designed for display as part of the 18+ LEGO Icons range. Though the set isn’t made to be a perfect replica — rather a caricature of the beloved Night Fury dragon. Most of the set’s 784 pieces go into building this cute recreation of Toothless, with a handful reserved for a small fish that fits conveniently in his mouth.

This will be the first time the LEGO Group enters the world of How to Train Your Dragon, capitalising on the opportunity given by the release of the live action remake of the first film. How to Train Your Dragon began as a children’s book series in 2003 by British author Cressida Cowell, steadily releasing new instalments until the twelth and final book in 2015. But where the series gained its true global following was with the release of Dreamworks’ 2010 film adaptation. The animated trilogy was one of the biggest hits of the 2010s and is now getting the live action treatment.

The LEGO version of Toothless is actually based on the new live action rendition, but fans of the animated character shouldn’t find anything off putting about the design. True to the character, the set is primarily composed of black pieces, including plenty of slopes and rounded elements to capture the dragon’s sleek look. Splashes of colour come in with his large, cartoony eyes and his tongue hanging out of his mouth. He also has his repaired fin and saddle — though no Hiccup minifigure is included to take advantage of that.

There is some articulation around Toothless’ neck, mouth and ears, so fans can make all sorts of different facial expressions. His tail will have some motion as well, thanks to the standard elements used there. It’s unclear just how much his feet will be able to move but based on the absence of any real legs and the construction of the body, it appears that 10375 How to Train Your Dragon: Toothless will be confined to his sitting pose.

Toothless’ impressive wingspan in the films is reduced significantly here to just a single wing element for each. This could be a detractor for some fans, but given the chibi look of the model as a whole, the wing choice at least makes sense. As a bonus for fans, the LEGO Group has released a promotional video on its YouTube channel featuring Chief Stoick actor Gerard Butler and director Dean DeBlois taking a look at the set.
