LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71051 Animals Series 28 coming soon

LEGO Collectible Minifigures is back with a series that is cuter than ever, channeling pastel colours in a set of adorable animals to chase off those January blues…

LEGO Collectible Minifigures has delivered huge variety for fans this year, swinging across the New York skyline as Miles Morales in 71050 Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse or not doing minifigures and instead doing cars. Each series has been completely unique and there was something for everyone. And it appears that this trend is going to be continuing as the latest reveal is for a new theme.

Those who enjoy the natural world are in for a treat as the new series of Collectible Minifigures is focusing on paw power. And flipper power. With a little bit of wing power too. Collectible Minifigures 71051 Animal Series 28 is literally made for the animal lovers. There are 12 unique characters to collect and each box will retail for £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 each. They will launch on January 1, 2026.

Each minifigure is wearing a unique animal costume – marking it as the first time a series has every character wearing some kind of mascot costume. These characters will be sporting parrot, lion, frog, crocodile, Dalmatian, goldfish, cute bunny, peacock, fluffy cat, koala, dolphin and monkey outfits. They will also feature at least one accessory that matches the animal they represent.

Some examples are the Easter egg that comes with the bunny, the ball of yarn that comes with the fluffy cat, the frisbee that the dalmatian can chase and the banana that accompanies the monkey. It ties in with the previous set, Collectible Minifigures 71048 Series 27, which included a hamster character with a crunchy piece of cucumber and Cat Lover, the minifigure that introduced the yarn ball element.

It’s also interesting to note that a lot of the new costumes may be repurposed in the future as part of the Lunar New Year sets. The dog, rabbit and monkey are all found on the Chinese zodiac. The upcoming festivals are for the Year of the Horse, which has an exclusive minifigure in 80119 Galloping Horses Canvas that is clearly inspired by the mould for Unicorn Guy from Series 18.
