40859 Golden Age Superman and Batman Figures are bringing the original comic versions of the caped heroes to the LEGO BrickHeadz theme.
LEGO BrickHeadz is bringing Batman and Superman back to their classic form in a set that pays homage to their origins.
Launching on September 1, LEGO BrickHeadz 40859 Golden Age Superman and Batman Figures consists of 218 pieces and will retail for £22.99 / $24.99 /€24.99.
Comic fans will be able to build and display the iconic DC Super Heroes characters as they appeared during their comic debuts.
Golden Age Superman refers to the original version of the iconic hero created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. He flew onto the page in 1938 in Action Comics #1, fighting injustice and standing up for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves.

His BrickHeadz figure features the bold blue and red colours of his original costume and the debut Superman logo stamped on his chest. Superman also has a green kryptonite brick hidden within his body to hint at Clark Kent’s only weakness.
The other hero in the box, the Caped Crusader, was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger and debuted in Detective Comics #27 in 1939. The figure is depicted wearing the original suit that was pale grey and blue, with the sharp outline of a bat embossed on the chest and a bright yellow utility belt.
Batman’s original mask had relatively large ears, which this figure appears to be trying to capture, as well as featuring prominent eyebrows. There is also a 2×2 round tile in the box to celebrate the 20th anniversary of LEGO Batman.
As part of this anniversary, the Golden Age Batman suit is a playable option in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. All players have to do to unlock it is create a Warner Bros. Games account and sign in when loading the game. After it is unlocked, you can equip it via the suits menu and swoop around Gotham City in the bold blue, grey, and yellow.
