Both of my children love Frozen and we also have the older Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle and Arendelle Castle sets along with the smaller Anna & Kristoff's Sleigh Adventure, Anna's Snow Adventure and Anna & Elsa's Frozen Playgound sets.

This newer Ice Palace is a definite improvement on the older Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle and also a fair bit bigger too. My children love that Marshmallow the ice monster is included in this set and he has been an immediate hit along with the Snowgies.

Size:-

I think one of the main questions may be how does this new Magical Ice Palace compare in size to the other ice castle/palace sets and I can confirm as I mentioned above that it is larger than the older Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle and only just a little bit bigger than Arendelle Castle. The Ice Palace has 701 pieces compared to Arendelle Castle's 477 pieces and the older Ice Castle's 292 pieces.

For further comparison If putting Arendelle Castle next to the new Ice Palace then the base of each of them is the same size except for the curved front sliding bridge part of the new Ice Palace. The Ice Palace is also just a little bit taller than Arendelle with the flip-out stairs expanding the width of the Ice Palace by a little bit too. I shall attach some photos of the two castles next to each other in the next few days if not already attached (I recently packed the older Ice Castle away when the new one arrived but I still have its measurements for comparison) to show their size next to each other.

I have measured Elsa's Magical Ice Palace myself and it measures approx 24cm wide by 19cm deep by 32cm high including the slide width.

The playground with snow fort measures 11cm wide by 5cm deep by 7cm high.

Marshmallow measures 9cm wide (with arms at sides) by 4cm deep by 7cm high.

Age Suitability:-

The set is aimed at children between 6 and 12 years old and some parts are a little tricky to build such as the sliding bridge and so I would say that younger children may need some help at points.

Build Bags etc:-

The set has one thick instruction booklet with step by step instructions and six main build bags. The set has 701 pieces plus some small additional spares. The set also comes with three main base boards, a small slide and a sticker sheet.

Figures:-

The set comes with Anna and Elsa figures, a buildable Olaf figure, four Snowgies and a buildable Marshmallow ice monster. Elsa has a sparkling cape and an ice piece which is held in her hand with a small see-through holder that looks much better than her just holding the ice piece like in the older set.

Palace:-

The palace itself has two main levels with the downstairs featuring a kitchen unit, table, stools and music podium. The kitchen unit has an opening cupboard which will fit the chocolate piece in by itself. There is a small slide with steps up to it and the stairs have a handle which can be turned to retract and expand the staircase. The main doors have a sliding bridge function to make Anna or Elsa magically glide out of them and this also makes the doors open smoothly.

The upstairs has Elsa's bedroom which has a large bed, rug, ice mirror and a hanging crystal chandelier. Elsa's bedroom leads out onto the large balcony which has opening balcony guards for easier access.

Extra's:-

The set comes with a separate playground and snow fort for the Snowgies and the see-saw does move. The set also comes with three sleds which can be attached together to make a larger sleigh if wished. Other little accessories include a teapot, two glasses, bar of chocolate, cake, carrot and ice-cream display.

This is a beautifully designed Frozen set with lots of attention to detail and a fair bit bigger with more attention to detail than the older version. As usual with Disney Lego sets they are a little pricier than similar sized non-Disney Lego sets but this is a great set for any Frozen or Disney Princess Lego fans. Both of my children love playing with this set and it really is a lovely set to build and play with. They especially like the sliding bridge, staircase and of course Marshmallow. I managed to pay a little bit less than the main retail price of £64.99 for the set and so it is worth keeping an eye out for the occasional price drop here on Amazon too. A brilliant Frozen set and much better than the older version.

I saw this and had to get it for my daughters christmas. It is a really heavy box, there is a lot of parts to it and I love that you get all Anna and Elsa together as well as Olaf, the Ice Monster and the little snowball men. The castle takes a long time to build as there is a lot to it but so worth it once it is done. It is amazing to look at and my daughter adores it, playing Frozen regularly. I would highly recommend it, it really is great.

Very good lego

Not really worth the money, but when I saw my niece’s face it was all worthy.

Fantastic fun, much bigger than the previous palace and better effects such as the doors to the palace opening automatically as a platform slides out.

This Lego set is amazing, my 6 year old daugher sat there, until she build the whole castle. I got it in the sale, which was bonus as well.

So expensive and hard to assemble i wish id glued it together as we went its all in pieces again now and ill never be able to get it back together now

My little niece loved this, her mum who did a lot of the building not so much! Great for £40.

LEGO siempre sorprende con productos de gran calidad. De momento no lo abro ya que es un regalo de reyes para mi sobrina y seguro que le va a encantar. Lo he visto montado en una tienda de Lego y más pequeño de lo que parece en la caja pero el nivel de detalles de las piezas son de lo mejor que he visto. Además con la rebaja, más barato que en la tienda oficial. Artículo recomendado.

Assolutamente nulla da dire sulla qualità del prodotto: esteticamente molto bello, tutti i componenti sono sagomati alla perfezione come solitamente LEGO ci ha abituato, molto molto carine le parti movimentabili (scale a chiocciola e portone), e istruzioni ben fatte, che rendono la costruzione divertente e semplice.

Wir haben den Eispalast unserer Tochter zum 5. Geburtstag Geschenkt. Eigentlich ist sie noch ein bisschen zu jung, aber da unsere Tochter gerne mit den Lego-Friends unserer großen Tochter spielt und ein großer Fan von Elsa und Anna ist haben wir uns doch jetzt schon dafür entschieden. Mit der Hilfe von Mama&Papa hat Sie dann auch weitestgehend das Schloss allein aufgebaut. Zwar verliert Sie mal ein paar kleine Teile, dass tut Ihrer Freude aber keinen Abbruch und Sie spielt sehr gerne mit Elsa, Anna, Olaf und dem Schneemonster. Deshalb gibt es von uns 5 Sterne.
