This set is an absolute must have for LEGO lovers of any age, but even more so for those old enough to have had the original pirates sets.

So many fantastic details, lots of nostalgia and a really incredible build. The fact you can take the ship out and assemble it so easily is absolutely genius and, as someone who knew the ship was to expensive to even ask for as a kid, a childhood dream fulfilled!

Easily the best of the sets aimed at adults, a great build, and looks great on display.

My older brother had the original 1980s Blackbeards ship which I was never allowed to play with. Finally I could have my own! What I didn't expect that it was far better than the original. So many amazing details you can really tell the design was a labour of love for the guru's at Lego.

The build was enjoyable, starting with the first part of the island followed by the middle of the ship. It felt like we were going on our own Caribbean pirate adventure. This is a big set, so some parts were a little technical and slow, but overall it was super fun.

Once completed there is a bonus section where you convert the hideout into the ship. The final page of the instructions is a picture of the old and new ships sailing together into the sunset. What a lovely touch.

My only minor gripes are why on earth doesn't the box show the ship as well as the island? I'm sure many people like me didn't even realise at first it does both. Plus, there are island to boat instructions, but not boat back to island, which gets a little slow and tricky.

Overall a must for Lego fans.I wish they would bring out a Navy ship too and maybe a fort.

When I first saw this on Amazon I knew I had to get it sooner or later. But eventually I did get it and it came in safe and sound. It was a bit heavy when I first got it but soon I got it threw the door I was ready to build it. So sooner or later got it all build and lookin VERY cool. This be a worthy Lego set to own and to build if you wish to relive the old Lego Pirate ship days. So this is a top buy and it will keep ya busy while building it and having fun at the same time

and last but not least....ARRRRRRRRR!!!!!! and shiver me timbers, tis be a good set it is mateys!
