40893 The Lord of the Rings: Grond is an exclusive new set inspired by Peter Jackson’s cinematic take on Tolkien’s beloved fantasy saga.
Grond, or the Wolf, is used by Sauron’s forces to breach the Great Gate of the City when they attack Minis Tirith, making it a very relevant companion set for Icons 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith. It will be free with the larger model between June 1 and June 7.
40893 The Lord of the Rings: Grond recreates the mighty battering ram that features a creepy head based on a ravaging wolf. It rolls on eight wheels and the weapon part of the construction is held up by miniature chains.

11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith is the largest ever set inspired by the fantasy films, as it uses 8,278 pieces. It has a price to match, retailing for £579.99 / $649.99 / €649.99 when it debuts on June 1. It is available for preorder now.
If you want to get your box signed and are in the right part of the world, you can attend one of two special events – Senior Model Designer François Zapf will be at LEGO Store Leicester Square, London on June 1 at 10.00am and LEGO Store München Zentrum, Munich on June 4.
When it arrives on screen, Grond has fire spewing from its carved jaws – but the set does not offer actual flames. Not does it include the great beasts, the massive rhinoceros-like creatures that pull it into battle. Gothmog refers to it as both Grond and the wolf.
Sauron’s forces chant “Grond! Grond! Grond! Grond!” as it is brought into battle when a regular battering ram fails. It takes four strikes on the Great Gate of the City before it is breached.
