LEGO Ideas has opened the fan vote for its Timeless Creations challenge, the final step in determining which entry will go on to become a LEGO set.
The fan vote for the Timeless Creations challenge is open now and will run until June 10, 2025. Voters have the choice between five finalists selected by the LEGO Ideas judges, and it’s no small decision to make — the winning model will go on to become its very own LEGO Ideas set, without having to go through the usual process of gaining 10,000 supporters. Timeless Creations challenged builders to create a LEGO brick replica of an iconic piece of technology or home life that’s so instantly recognisable that it’s destined to stand the test of time. A handful of official sets already exist in this vein, such as 10334 Retro Radio and 21345 Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera, which are coincidentally two of the three prizes awarded to all five models that have made it to the fan vote. 21323 Grand Piano joins them as the big-ticket prize awarded to each builder.
Of the five finalists, FMDavid’s Detailed Classic Retro Television is the closest to most of the retro-style LEGO sets already in production. Following in the footsteps of 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System, the project depicts a classic box TV, complete with four legs, the spindly antenna on top and all the nobs and whistles beside the screen. The colour test screen is a nice touch, too.
On the opposite end of the spectrum is 2A2A’s Carousel Music Box, which tackles two things not often depicted in LEGO sets all in one go. It is much smaller than LEGO Creator’s 10257 Carousel from 2017, likely due to a carousel-sized music box being much more unwieldy than a music box dressed up as a carousel. But what it lacks in size, it makes up for in detail — there’s not a stud on the model that isn’t touched by some sort of luxurious ornamentation.

BrickStability’s Vintage Sewing Machine is another prime example of an elegantly decorated model, with its dark base lovingly embellished by chrome gold elements. You’d be hard pressed to actually get any thread to move through this machine, but as a celebration of a classic fixture in many a grandmother’s home, it’s an excellent project. And the accompanying scissors are nothing to scoff at, either.
lexie_blue’s Rocking Horse is a masterful example of what can be achieved with sloped and curved LEGO elements. The shaping for the horse is expertly crafted — the model would look right at home on display next to other, non-brick-built rocking horses. A love of gold is apparently shared by this group of builders, as the Rocking Horse also makes use of many golden elements to add an extra bit of pizazz to the build.
Built by cable_girl, Rustic Barn Lantern is just about the exact opposite of the golden elegance displayed by many of the other finalists. But that doesn’t mean the lantern is devoid of any charm — it’s a fantastic model that captures the shaping of the old lantern brilliantly, utilising nearly every circular element in the book. The rubber string-like elements used to add detail to the otherwise plain glass section of the build are yet another example of creative parts usage in creating the iconic lantern.
