Best LEGO sets to buy for Christmas 2021

Here are some of the best LEGO Christmas sets for 2021 that will give your house a splash of festive cheer involving the beloved brick including the beautiful 21330 Home Alone house.

It’s that time of year again, when LEGO baubles are brought out of the attic and Winter Village displays are beginning to be built. With Christmas creeping up quick, it’s time for decorating, mince pie eating and some shopping. In the festive rush though it’s important to have some literal chill time, so what do the LEGO Group have on offer for Christmas 2021?

At Blocks, the LEGO magazine for fans, we’ve put together the best LEGO sets for Christmas that you can take home in your sleigh and build to a carol sing-along…

10293 Santa’s Visit

Winter Village fans cannot miss this year’s set, which is the quintessential homely Christmas. 10293 Santa’s Visit is so unique, featuring unusual building methods, a light-up Christmas tree and the best Santa Claus minifigure ever. Whether you’ve got previous sets or this is your first Winter Village model, 10293 offers something fresh yet familiar in the theme.

40426 Christmas Wreath 2-in-1

Last year this set was so popular it sold out in a flash, so it’s no surprise that the LEGO Group brought it back for this year. Hate needle shedding? 40426 is a literal evergreen wreath, using a myriad of LEGO foliage elements to great effect. The Advent wreath would make for a a great unusual table centrepiece, and both models are easily customisable too with extra LEGO bricks or festive minifigures.

Blocks reviews 10293 Santa’s Visit in Issue 85 and hears from the designer of the set in Issue 84. 21330 Home Alone

As the biggest LEGO Ideas set released to date, 21330 Home Alone is perfect for creating a focal element in a Christmas LEGO display. With nearly 4,000 pieces it’s a great set to build into a long, dark December night. All of Kevin’s festive capers are included in beautiful detail and it would be super fun building the model whilst watching the film to get you into the Christmas spirit.

40499 Santa’s Sleigh

While it may not come with Rudolph, 40499 Santa’s Sleigh would look amazing next to any Winter Village set or on a coffee table. It comes with lots of fun LEGO toys and the famous nice list. Plus it’s a cheaper way of getting the brand new Santa Claus minifigure that is also in 10293. If you grab two copies of the set you can also boost the reindeer team to have everyone from Dasher to Cupid.
