LEGO Icons 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire has been officially announced and many images of the set are now available to peruse, including a look at exclusive minifigures such as Rosie Cotton, Farmer Proudfoot and Mrs. Proudfoot.

It’s almost time for the next LEGO Icons location from Middle-earth – 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire. LEGO.com will sell the set starting April 2, it will contain 2,017 pieces and will retail for £229.99 / $269.99.

If you order the set from LEGO.com before the end of April 8, you’ll get 40761 The Lord of the Rings: Sméagol & Déagol for free.

This is the latest The Lord of the Rings set in the last few years, following on from 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell and 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr. It depicts the scene of of Bilbo Baggins’ 111st birthday celebration, with a celebration going on by the party tree. There’s a function to make Bilbo disappear in a magic trick.   

Most of the build though is dedicated to Bilbo’s hobbit-hole, with its iconic round green door and cosy interior. Features inside the build include being able to transform a burning letter into The One Ring, Bilbo’s writing spot and the entranceway.

There are nine LEGO characters in 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire including several exclusives and a new skirt element. The minifigures in the set are Bilbo Baggins, Frodo, Mrs. Proudfoot, Farmer Proudfoot, Merry, Pippin, Rosie Cotton, Samwise Gamgee and Gandalf the Grey.

Sean Astin, who portrayed Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, is part of a promotional mini-film that has been released to coincide with the set’s release.

“Not all those who wander are lost… especially when travelling through the astonishing detail of the Shire made out of LEGO bricks,” said Sean. “From the smallest hobbit-hole to the grandest fireworks, building this set brought back so many fond memories of Middle-earth. Now fans can journey there themselves and build their own adventures.”
